Netherlands-based Saeplast's new container draws its stability from the double-walled construction and therefore has no ridges on the outside, making it different from those that are injection-moulded.
Saeplast, a unit of Bonar Plastics, designed the container with novel stacking corners, providing greater stability through its double-walled polyethylene construction. Polyethylene rigid foam form a cushion between the walls.
"This prevents deformations when the container is filled and results in a longer life span," the company claimed in a press release. "In the event the container is damaged, it can simply be heatsealed."
