ITW Muller has launched the GW-4100 robotic pallet wrapper, suitable for securing product loads in food processing companies.

According to the manufacturer, the unit offers a high degree of product protection, wrapping consistency, and operational safety. It also reportedly provides waste reduction, efficiency and cost savings.

Competitive edge

ITW Muller marketing director Michael Klear told FoodProductionDaily.com that GW4100 offers a number of benefits over competitive machines.

“The GW-4100 runs our GaleWrap Oriented film, which is optimized for consistency no matter what environment it operates in (dustry/dirty/cold/hot),” he said. “Competitive machines have power pre-stretch carriages which lose much of their pre-stretch under adverse conditions and require more maintenance oversight.”

Klear added that the GW-4100 has less film breaks, thanks to the machine carriage and specialty oriented film, which is manufactured especially He also said the machine’s long battery life exceeds that of other robotic wrappers, which allows for better throughput in a workday.

Performance capabilities

The GW- 4100 robotic pallet wrapper can handle up to 37 loads per hour. Standard features a telescoping mast that is said to allow for easy mobility. Additionally, the machine accommodates loads up to 6 ft. 11 in. high (2.1 m).

Other attributes include:

  • built-in film cutter
  • independent top and bottom wrap pattern selection from one to 20 wraps
  • electronically adjustable film tension
  • ability to program
  • pre-set with 99 wrap cycles
  • safety features such as emergency stop button, safety contact edge and low voltage.

Klear said the GW-4100 is a highly flexible wrapper especially suited for food manufacturing, foodservice and grocery operations. He added it is ideal for businesses that "require speed, quality wrap, flexibility but may not have the budget for a fully automatic in-line production system."
