A food processing firm is planning an expansion to the tune of $44m, which will add 200 jobs.
Custom Food Products (CFP), a subsidiary of CTI Foods , is investing in expansion of its Owingsville, Kentucky facility. The plant processes meats, soups, sauces and tacos for food manufacturers and foodservice chains.
CTI Foods had acquired the CTI plant just last year. CEO Bobby Horowitz said CTI had been planning to grow its operations. Recently, company officials had been examining the Owingsville location and planning the expansion for some time.
According to the office of Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear, the state’s Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $3 million.
