Allen France SAS has installed an NG4+ thermal transfer coder on to a packaging line at a French producer of organic foods.

GermLine is using the printer with a Rotech feeder to print use-by dates, batch numbers, times, barcodes on to plastic polypropylene (PP) film bags containing dried fruits such as apricots.

Designed for printing on packaging materials across print areas of five to 10cm, the system at producer of cereal bars, seeds, lentils, rice and dried fruit is operating at 50 items per minute on a packaging machine running continuously.

The NG4+ can operate on labelling and packaging machines at speeds of up to 500mm per second in intermittent mode and up to 29m per minute in continuous mode.

Allen Coding is part of the ITW Marking & Coding Division, which includes Allen Spain, Allen Germany, Norwood, Diagraph and Trident.
